FAQs
1. You mention collaborating; what is required of me?
Aside from answering questions and sharing information with me when we first get started, I appreciate an email to update me before creating and sharing the next lesson. Communication is absolutely key since I likely cannot watch your child learn myself. I truly value your input and trust your opinions. You know your child best and you are your child’s best teacher.
2. I only want to meet a few times and not commit, yet.
No worries, at all. If you aren’t ready for full blown lesson plans and just want to pick my brain, that’s totally fine, too.
3. Can you give my child a lesson virtually?
We’ll have to discuss this one. It’s totally possible for the right lesson and if I happen to have the material at home. I own a lot, but not everything.
4. My child’s development and behaviors are important to me, too. Can you help with this?
Absolutely. I have worked with newborns through age twelve with the Montessori philosophy. Every child is different; yet many ages and stages have a lot in common. I can help you to figure out what will work best for you. (Of course, I’m not a doctor and cannot diagnose anything at all, but I do have decades of experience working with children from all different backgrounds and learning styles.)
5. Can Montessori supplement what my child is doing in public school?
In many cases, yes. I have taught in public schools and my children attend one. I also work at our local University with education students and professors, so I have my finger on the pulse of what is going on in the public realm, as well. Let’s chat and see what we can do together! (I’m always happy to chat with your child’s teacher, too, if they are willing.)
